  Definition and function of narrative text. Narrative text  is a type of text in the form of fantasy stories, fabricated true stories, or fairy tales.  Narrative text  tells a story that has a chronological sequence of events that are interconnected.  The purpose of  narrative text  is to entertain the reader. Text structure (generic structure). The structure of the  narrative text  is as follows: Orientation  : an introduction or an opening in the form of an introduction to character, time, and place. Complication  : the development of conflict or the emergence of problems in the story. Resolution  : conflict resolution or steps taken to respond to the problem. Re-orientation  : closing expressions that indicate the end of a story.  Re-orientation  is optional or not always in  narrative text  .   Pattimura Thomas Matulessy  (8 June 1783 – 16 December 1817), also known as  Kapitan Pattimura  or simply  Pattimura , was an  Ambonese  soldier and National Hero of Indonesia from Maluku. Born on the island of  Saparua , Pattimura joined the British army after they took the Maluku islands from the  Dutch colonials . When the islands were returned to the Dutch in 1816, he was dismissed. Concerned that the Dutch would implement programs that limited his people, Pattimura led an armed rebellion that captured  Fort Duurstede  on 16 May 1817. Killing the inhabitants of the fortress and fighting off Dutch reinforcements, on 29 May he was declared the leader of the Moluccan people. After being betrayed by the King of Booi Pati Akoon, he was captured by Dutch forces on 11 November and hanged the next month. Pattimura has become a symbol of both Maluku and Indonesian independence, praised by President  Sukarno  and declared a national hero by President  Suharto . He has several namesakes bot

Outline of the recount text : Battle of surabaya Orientation Indonesia celebrates Hari Pahlawan on 10 November, in remembrance of the Battle of Surabaya. The battle took place as Indonesians refused to surrender to British army. Events It all started due to a misunderstanding between British troops in Jakarta and those in Surabaya, under the command of Brigadier A. W. S. Mallaby. on 27 October 1945, British plane from Jakarta dropped leaflets all over Surabaya requesting Indonesians to surrender their weapons. . This action angered the Indonesian troops and militia. Brigadier Mallaby was killed on 30 October 1945 near Jembatan Merah or Red Bridge, Surabaya. Because of that Lieutenant General Sir Philip Christison brought in reinforcements in preparation for sieging the city.
